Reading Options

The UnTextbook holds so many options for reading units. It is great that as a student, we get the opportunity to choose which unit we get to read. The reading units that I plan to read this semester are Adam and Eve, Cupid and Psyche, and Saints and Animals.

I chose to bookmark this reading unit because I recently began to read the Bible. It has been a long time since I have read parts of the Bible, so this unit will be very interesting and allow me to gain further knowledge on Adam and Eve! Additionally, this reading unit got my attention because this is one of the very first myth/folklore stories that I remember hearing growing up. It will be interesting to see the difference in the way that the story is told from the UnTextbook and then from how I grew up understanding the story.

This is a reading unit that really peaked my interest. I really enjoy reading love stories. I have heard of Cupid before, but I have never heard of Psyche. It will be interesting to see how the stories play out, especially since they are being compared to the film Beauty and the Beast! The language may be a slight issue, but it is nice that Laura has provided notes on each page. I look forward to reading these stories!

This reading unit is right up my alley. I am a huge animal lover, so having stories that involve animal interactions draws my interest. It will be neat to see the crossover between saints and animals. The overview of this reading unit seems to show that the relationship between the saints and animals will be different than other stories. This will be a refreshing take on the assignments. This is a reading unit that I look forward to reading and writing about!
