Seven Ways to Crush Self- Doubt in Creative Work
This article immediately made me think about the ways that I use self-doubt in the different areas of my life. Comparing myself to others is something that I unfortunately do too often. The comparison trap is easy to fall into. Realizing that comparing myself to others is the culprit and self-doubt isn't, it opens up my mind a little. It makes me take a step back and look at exactly what I am doing. Setting goals that are within my control is another thing that I need to be more aware of. It is easy to get caught up in making goals that are a little outrageous. Acknowledging that some things are out of my control and using self-assessment and self-reflection are so important. These are all things that I need to better incorporate into my life and it will help me get feedback better as well.

Negativity is something that can really tear a person up. The negative and critical voices inside your head can be difficult to get rid of. I have been in the position where I have only focused on negative feedback rather than the positive feedback. It absolutely tore me up inside. When I was section leader for my high school band, I would be given feedback. Most of the time it was positive but there was some things that I had to work on. The negative feedback I was given was almost all consuming. This is an easy thing to do, but it is essential to remember to get rid of the negative thoughts and become more productive. A key to becoming more productive is to always think about the positive. There are many ways to take in what is said to you, and thinking of the positive feedback can help in different ways. This article was really helpful for me to read. It is easy to get stuck in negative thoughts, but focusing on positivity is important to do.
