Reading Notes: Cupid and Psyche, Part B
Starting off Part B, I realized the format of the stories are different than the way I would write. The sentences are very long. It is as if the writer decided to extend the sentence solely due to commas. I am not a big fan of this, but I could use this idea in making my sentences contain more. I know that I can make my sentences too short sometimes so this will broaden my writing skills.
Wow, Venus is a little crazy. She is enraged once she knows that Cupid is in love with Psyche. Venus seems to threaten Cupid by saying she will take away his powers and give them to some other boy. She also mentions how reckless and stupid Cupid must be to go against what she told him to do. This seems like she is manipulating the situation. There seems to be a lot of manipulation in Cupid and Psyche. Venus definitely wants revenge.
Mercry and Venus set out a warning to all of the mortal men to help find Psyche. They promised a big reward that they all wanted. This part reminded me of Harry Potter when Voldemort was trying to get Harry to go to the Forbidden Forrest. Venus is crazy. She is so mean to Psyche when she is in her presence. Pulling her hair and beating her is intense. The ants helping out Psyche are very nice. They seemed to have taken pity, but it is kindness that Psyche has not seen. Writing a story about how the sheep got their mean powers would be cool. Reading this part of the story made me very curious as to how they got to be this way.
Eventually after Psyche completed all of her tasks and once Cupid was better. They lived happily-ever-after.
idea for story: Have a young girl be tormented by some animal. This animal is unknown as she always looks away. One day she had the courage to trap the animal, but when she saw it she fell in love. It was a cat that was homeless and only wanted her food. His loud meow was vicious but he purred as he slept. She was in love with him instantly.
