Week 8 Comments and Feedback
I feel like I have been getting a lot of great feedback on my stories. For me, I like when I get comments that recommend better ways to tell the story. It is always nice to hear what I am doing right, but hearing what I need to fix or what is wrong is extremely helpful. This will help me throughout the rest of the semester to write the greatest story possible. Telling exactly what's wrong can be hard to write as a commentator, but not beating around the bush and flat out saying your thoughts is helpful for me, the writer! I appreciate when I get comments like that. I also like when people quote right from the story to show exactly where the issue is.
I feel as if I leave pretty good comments. I like to start by telling everything that I like about the story, then ask questions and suggest ways to fix the story. The TAG approach is definitely the way I like to give feedback. As I read and analyze stories, I am able to see what I like and don't like as a reader. This is especially prevalent for the visuals of the stories and the storybook. A first impression is important for a story, so I have learned this from my fellow classmates.
I really like how reading the introductions every week introduces people. Reading these introductions allows me to get to know the writer. It is really neat knowing what people like and then seeing how it relates to the kind of stories that they write. Additionally, I like when I read about people that are into the same activities as me! It is always cool to read that someone likes the same shows or music as if allows us to have some sort of bond, even though we haven't met!
I like in the future, I could add more specific feedback. Like I mentioned, I like when people give quotes of the areas where I need help, so I see myself doing this for my classmates in the future. I really like these kind of comments because it shows exactly where the problem is rather than it being ambiguous. I feel as if my comment wall and introduction are doing well for this class.
Feedback Cats
I liked this photo of cats giving feedback. I feel as if in this class, trusting one another's opinions and feedback on stories is really important. If there isn't trust that each student is being critical in order to help rather than tear down, then the story will not be the best that it can be. Trusting each other that the feedback is not personal but constructive is great for this class!
